Land of the Vltava
Part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918 and then of Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic has been an independant country since 1993. Between Eastern and Central Europe, the country perfectly reflects this traditional yet modern society.
The historical traces in the Czech Republic are retained: the Charles Bridge constructed during the 14th Century or the Astronomical clock – which is the oldest clock still operating! - in Prague. Or the Great Synagogue in Plzen, which is the second largest one in Europe.
And let’s not forget about the great names of cultural heritage! Antonín Dvořák, for example, was one of the first Czech composers who managed to expose his music beyond national borders.
In addition to all that, the romantic in you will just enjoy the idyllic sceneries the country features...
